The parks division provides the necessary maintenance, construction, and repair of our community parks and recreation facilities which totals more than 31 acres.

Animal Control

The animal control division provides animal control services, municipal code enforcement, cruelty investigations and temporary sheltering services for the City of Exeter. Animal Control number 559.592.5262

Animals picked up by the animal control officer are temporarily held in an indoor / outdoor kennel facility located at the city's Corporation Yard before they are transferred to the Tulare Animal Shelter in Tulare, 3817 S. K Street.  The phone number for Tulare Animal Shelter is 559.685.5047.  The City of Exeter has an animal sheltering services agreement with the City of Tulare.

Transit Development Plan

The City’s Transit Development Plan (TDP) presents operational, financial, and capital improvements for supporting and implementing its public transit program. The TDP, covering a five-year horizon, includes strategies to enhance service efficiency and effectiveness as well as how to finance implementation of those strategies. These strategies reflect findings from rider and non-rider (community) input as well as a quantitative assessment of transit system performance.

Dial-A-Ride

dial_a_rideExciting News! On July 1, 2017, Visalia Transit, will be the sole provider of Dial-a-Ride service in the City of Exeter, including trips within the city.

Visalia Transit's Dial-a-Ride is a reservation-based "origin-to-destination" service designed to provide comparable transit service for ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) certified individuals with disabilities that prevent them from riding the fixed-route buses.

Dial-a-Ride informational brochures and ADA applications can be found at the Visalia Transit Center or online at www.VisaliaTransit.com.  

Reservations Required

* ADA-certified passengers can make reservations up to two weeks in advance

* Reservations are guaranteed within a 30-minute window, as long as you call least one day in advance

* Non-ADA passengers can only make same-day reservations, as space is available.  Space is limited for same-day reservations.

* Service outside the city limits is provided by Tulare County Area Transit.

For a limited time, the City of Exeter will be selling 10-ride punch passes for a discount to its residents.  Visit the Exeter City Hall or Exeter Recreation to purchase passes.
