Animal Control
The animal control division provides animal control services, municipal code enforcement, cruelty investigations and temporary sheltering services for the City of Exeter. Animal Control number 559.592.2523
Animals picked up by the animal control officer are temporarily held in an indoor / outdoor kennel facility located at the city's Corporation Yard before they are transferred to the Tulare Animal Shelter in Tulare, 3817 S. K Street. The phone number for Tulare Animal Shelter is 559.685.5047. The City of Exeter has an animal sheltering services agreement with the City of Tulare.
Dial-a-Ride
The city provides Dial-A-Ride curb-to-curb para-transit services on a shared-ride, demand response basis to locations within the city limits of Exeter. For reservations call 559.592.8100.

Refuse Collection
The City of Exeter contracts with Sunset Waste Systems to collect and dispose of solid waste from residential and commercial areas within the city limits. Sunset Waste Systems provides once-a-week collection in the residential and commercial areas for general refuse, green waste, and recyclable materials. The City of Exeter's Dial-A-Ride service operates between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday and is available for passenger pick ups between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. There is no service on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays observed by the City of Exeter. The City of Exeter's Dial-A-Ride service provides service within the corporate limits of the City of Exeter only.
Each fare is applicable to one complete trip. Once the passenger disembarks from the vehicle, or arrives at a destination one trip is completed. Upon entering the same vehicle again, a new trip commences and the passenger will be required to pay a new fare. The fare for each one-way trip within the city limits is $2.00. Dial-A-Ride services for senior citizens 65 or older and persons who possess a valid disabled identification card is $1.00.
Up to two children age four and under may ride free of charge when accompanied by a paying parent and/or guardian.

Dial-A-Ride Passes Are Now Available
Punch passes good for ten rides may be purchased from the bus drivers at a cost of $20.00. Punch passes may also be purchased at Exeter Community Services at 314 W. Firebaugh.
Here's how it works:
Simply present your Punch Pass to the driver when boarding a Dial-A-Ride Bus. The driver will take your pass, punch out one box then return your pass to you.
