The department of public works street maintenance division provides maintenance and improvements to roadways within the city's jurisdiction.

Our annual slurry seal program is a major contributing factor in keeping our city streets in good condition.

You can help maintain city streets and sidewalks by calling the street maintenance division at 559.592.3318 if you notice damaged asphalt or sidewalks.  Your call will help us effect speedy repairs and keep our streets and sidewalks in good condition.

In addition to roadway improvements, the street maintenance division also performs residential sidewalk repairs as part of our shared cost improvement program.  This program allows residents to have repairs or improvements made to their sidewalks for the cost of materials only.  To participate in this program, residents are encouraged to complete a Residential Sidewalk Improvement Request Form available at City Hall.  Upon receipt of such request, the street maintenance division prepares an estimate for the work to be performed.  This estimate is then given to the resident for review and approval.  Upon receipt of payment for material, which can be made at City Hall, the street maintenance division schedules the work to be completed.

The street maintenance division also performs necessary repairs to the city's curb and gutters, handicap access ramps and city maintained sidewalks.

In addition to street and sidewalk maintenance, the street maintenance division also installs and maintains street/traffic signs within the city's jurisdiction.
