Exeter’s unique downtown is home to 26 murals relating to the history of Exeter and its surrounding areas.  The most recent mural was dedicated on the 100th anniversary of the City of Exeter in March of 2011.  For details visit our Mural Gallery.

museum_visitors Exeter Museum

One of the newest additions to Exeter’s heritage is the Exeter Museum which is located next to Exeter Art Gallery.  This historic 1913 former Mt. Whitney power house is an interactive experience into Exeter’s past.  Admission to the Gallery and Museum is free. Please visit their Exeter Historical Museum Facebook page for more information.

There are several events that take place in the City of Exeter.  We have the Exeter Fall Festival in October.  Starting at the end of November we have the Exeter Holiday Open House.  The Exeter Chamber of Commerce has further information regarding all of our annual events.

Exeter has many parks.  City Park, located at Chestnut and E Streets, has a child play area, picnic area, horse shoes, wading pool (seasonal), restrooms, library and a Carnegie Building / Senior Center.  This park is also the venue for Exeter’s free summer concert series.  For more information about Exeter parks, see the Recreation Department.

Our newest park, the Exeter Bark Park was a community-wide effort lead by the Friends of Residential Exeter Dogs and is located on F street across from City Hall.

Parks & Recreation Facilities For Rent 

City Park City Park City Park is located across from Lincoln School at Chestnut and D Streets.  The site has 3 covered eating area. The Lions Club arbor is located closest to the gazebo and rents for $30.00 per day with a $50.00 refundable cleaning/damage deposit. The deposit fee increases to $100.00 if you plan on having alcohol. The Wading Pool arbor is located next to the wading pool and rents for $30.00 per day with a $50.00 refundable cleaning/damage deposit. The deposit fee increases to $100.00 if you plan on having alcohol.  For the Lions Club arbor and the Wading Pool arbor you must provide your own tables and seating. The City Park arbor( the largest arbor in the park) includes picnic tables, sink and a barbeque and rents for $75.00 per day with a refundable cleaning/damage deposit of $100.00. The deposit increases to $200.00 if alcohol will be present.  The Special Event fee is $135.00 for use of the entire park. Refundable cleaning/damage deposit is $200.00 and increases to $300.00 with alcohol.  For Special Event rentals, Proof of Insurance is required with the City of Exeter as an additionally insured. The wading pool is currently not available for rental. Reservations must be made at the Community Services Office at 137 N F St. or by phone at 559.592.5262.

park3 Brickhouse Park  This park is located at Palm and G St.  The site includes a picnic table and a covered area. There are no restroom facilities at this site. The cost is $15.00 for 2 hours and $5.00 for each additional hour or $30.00 for the day.  The cleaning deposit is $25.00 or $50.00 if you have alcohol.  Reservations must be made at the Community Services office or by phone at 559.592.5262.

Dobson Field  

Dobson Field is available for rent for $50.00 per field.  Lights are available for $15.00 per hour. (There is a 2 hour minimum per night, per field) Please call the Community Services office for reservations. 559.592.5262.

 

Exeter Lions Stadium:  This stadium is available for rent for baseball games at the rate of $100.00 per day.  This fee does not include lights or use of the scoreboard.  There is additional fee of $15.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum for lights. Special event fee is $300.00 per day.  This fee includes 2 hours of lights.  For Special Event rentals, Proof of Insurance is required with the City of Exeter as an additionally insured.
