Youth Programs
Youth Basketball All boys and girls in the 3rd through 8th grade are eligible to participate. The season will begin on January 5, 2013. Games will be held on Saturdays and the season will run through March. Registration begins October 8, 2012. Fee for this program is $40.00 on or before November 16, 2012. After November 16, 2012 the fee will increase to $50.00. Team sponsorships are available starting at $175.00.
Buddy Basketball All boys and girls in K through 2nd grade are eligible to participate. The season will begin on January 5, 2013. Games will be held on Saturdays, at Wilson Middle school and the season will run through March. Registration begins October 8, 2012. Fee for this program is $40.00 on or before November 16, 2012. After November 16, 2012 the fee will increase to $50.00. Team sponsorships are available for $150.00.
Midget Baseball / Softball Boys who are 6-8 years old on April 30, 2013 are eligible to participate in Midget Baseball. Girls ages 6-8 years old on April 30, 2013 are eligible to participate in Midget Softball. These programs will teach the basic fundamentals of baseball and softball in a fun, non-competitive atmosphere. Players will learn team play and good sportsmanship. Registration begins January 18, 2013. The fee for this program is $40.00, if paid, on or before Febuary 22, 2013. After February 22, 2013 the fee increases to $50.00. Midget boys will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 9, 2013. Midget girls will play on Mondays and Wednesdays starting on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Team sponsorships are available, for either league, at $185.00 per team.
Tee Ball Boys and girls who are 4 and 5 years old on or before April 30, 2013 are eligible to participate in this league. This league is strictly to begin to teach the fundamentals of the game. A soft baseball will be used for safety purposes. A game will consist of one half hour of practice and one half hour of a scrimmage against another team. Fee for Tee Ball is $40.00 on or before February 22, 2013. After that date the fee will increase to $50.00. Tee Ball will play on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 9, 2013. Team sponsorships are available for 150.00.
Minor and Major Softball Girls who are 9-14 years old on or before April 30, 2013 are eligible to participate in this league. Games will be played on Mondays and Thurdays starting on Monday, April 8, 2013. Practices will be determined by the coach. Fee for both programs is $40.00 if paid on or before February 22, 2013. After February 22, 2013 the fee increases to $50.00. EVALUATIONS WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2013. 9-10 YEAR OLDS WILL START AT 6PM. 11-14 YEAR OLDS WILL START AT 7PM.
Babe Ruth Boys who are 12-15 years old are eligible to participate in this program. The season will begin the week of May 20, 2013 and will run through mid July with games being played on weeknights and weekends. Look for more details in the registration flyer that will be out sometime in April. Some traveling is involved.
Summer Fun Camp The Recreation Department will conduct a one (1) week session of Day Camp for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12 years old. Day Camp is scheduled for July 22-July 26, 2013, and will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday. Campers will enjoy arts and crafts, field trips, swimming and much more. Look for more details in the registration flyer that will be out sometime in May.
Youth Soccer League Boys and girls ages 4-14 can participate in youth soccer. The season will begin sometime in July and run through August. Games will be played on weekends and practice will be determined by the coach. Registration flyers will be sent out some time in May. We are hoping to expand this league every year.
Youth Flag Football / Volleyball Boys and girls in the 3rd through 8th grades (Volleyball) and 1st through 6th grade (Flag Football) are eligible to participate in these programs. Coaches will teach the fundamentals of football and volleyball, team play and sportsmanship in an organized setting. Games will be held on Saturdays and some week nights and the season will start some time in September or October.
Easter Egg Hunt The Recreation Department will hold the Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the City Park on the Saturday before Easter. This program is free to all children up to age 10.
Pumpkin Carving Contest The Recreation Department will host the Annual Pumpkin Carving Contest during the week of Fall Festival. Children who are in the 1st through 6th grade are eligible to participate. Look for more details in the registration flyer.
Lip Sync Contest The Recreation Department will host the Annual Lip Sync Contest during the week of Fall Festival. Children who are in K through High School are encouraged to participate. Categories are as follows: Male Soloist, Female Soloist and Group. Look for more information in the registration flyer.
X-Men Wrestling The Recreation Department with Exeter Union High School Wrestling offer a free-style wrestling program. This program starts in the spring. Ages 6-18 are eligible to participate. Contact the Recreation office for more details.
Exeter Water Polo Summer Water Polo. This program is scheduled to start on Monday, May 21, 2012. Practice will be after school, Monday-Wednesday from 6:00pm-7:00pm for youth, 6:00pm-7:30pm for high school and 7:30pm-9:30pm for Masters. There will be NO PRACTICE scheduled during home Exeter Eels swim meets. The fee for this program is: High School Players: $70.00, Masters: $30.00 (Does Not include tournament fees), Junior High School and below: $30.00 (Dose not include tournament fees)
