Streets Division

The Streets Division provides provided maintenance of more than 32 centerline miles of roadway and all of the curb, gutter, and sidewalk within the City’s jurisdiction. They ensure that all traffic control markings such as crosswalks, legends, turn arrows, stop bars, and street signs are legible and visible.

Street Sweeping

The City of Exeter recognizes the importance of keeping all City streets clean for our citizens and for the environment. Currently, the City contracts with Sweeping Corp of America, Inc. for street sweeping services throughout the community. The primary objectives of the street sweeping program are to:

  1. Reduce health hazards by removing pollutants that are contained in or are part of the sweepings. Sweeping directly reduces PM 10 air borne dust pollution and the discharge of pollutants into the storm drainage system
  2. Reduce maintenance costs by keeping the storm drainage system clean.
  3. Provide a clean, aesthetically pleasing appearance for residents and visitors.

The City is highly committed to keeping our streets as clean as possible. Citizens can help by keeping vehicles and trailers off the street on scheduled sweeping days.

The Street Sweeper maps show the schedules of street sweeping in your neighborhood and are available here.
