Website Accessibility Statement

Our city’s website is made for everyone, including people with disabilities. We follow the rules of the American with Disabilities Act to make sure it’s easy for you to use. If you have ideas on how to make our website better, please tell us!

What We Do to Help You:

  • We use easy-to-read fonts.
  • We use words, not just pictures, to help you find your way around.
  • We try to explain things without using colors alone.
  • We describe pictures and links so everyone can understand them.
  • We follow special rules (like Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 A and AA) to make our website friendly for everyone.

Some Parts of Our Website Need Work:

We know some parts aren’t perfect yet, like:

  • Some older documents are hard to read with special software.
  • Some buttons and links are hard to see.
  • Some maps and charts aren’t easy to understand without seeing them.
  • Some pages don’t have headings in order.
  • We’re working to make everything better!

How to Tell Us About Problems:

If you find something that’s not working right, or if you need information in a different way (like a bigger print or an audio recording), you can:

  • Contact the City Clerk at (559) 592-9244, write to 137 N F St, Exeter, CA 93221; or email fquintana@exetercityhall.com
  • If you need help during a city meeting or with meeting documents, let the City Clerk know 48 hours before the meeting.

More Technical Stuff:

Our city council wants our website to be easy for everyone to use. We’re trying to meet all the guidelines for a good website, but some parts still need fixing.

Helpful Tools and Technology:

  • Most web browsers and mobile devices have tools to help you use websites better.
  • There are special programs like JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver that can read the website to you.
  • If you only use the keyboard, our website works with that too.

Other Helpful Info:

  • You might need Adobe Reader for some files on our website. It’s free and works on most devices.
  • If you use a screen reader, Adobe has tips on how to read PDFs.

We’re always trying to make our website better for you!
